Ecological history is crucial in ecosystem restoration, serving as a tool to identify and characterize suitable restoration targets. Pakistan has implemented laws policies enhance forest sustainability preserve biodiversity, it becoming global strategy for future water planning management. This study seeks analyze the impact of national park on various factors, including biodiversity conservation, ecological processes preservation, resource protection, consumptive non-consumptive benefits, research education, promotion recreation tourism. To assess effectiveness established 19 National Parks Pakistan, mixed-mode design was utilized, combining both quantitative qualitative approaches. Data collected from 300 participants through close-ended questionnaire employing Likert scale. Analysis data conducted using software Smart Partial Least Squares method. The findings demonstrate that existing have contributed preservation Pakistan. related tourism; benefits; are more effective respectively compared other sets regulations. least effective. suggests parks need be revised processes. resources should major concern, benefits these rechecked. Abstract Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) became mandatory in Pakistan 1983 with the passage of Protection Ordinance. The Sustainable Development Goals were incorporated into Pakistan's national development strategy, making it first country history to do so. study is based on evaluating mitigation strategies and environmental impact assessment at Gulpur Hydropower Project (HPP), Kotli, AJK, which uses Poonch River's water resources generate power has a design capacity 100 MW using EIA documentation HPP. In addition additional observations reviewing literature, looked Mira Power Limited's reports. possible effects, as well Government's MPL's mitigating actions, examined by authors. procedures HPP considered several laws, including Agency, AJK Wildlife Ordinance 2013, Land Acquisition Act 1894, Laws Regulating Flow Releases for Projects. Projects hydropower delicate areas carry high risk. Given thorough analysis hazards this instance, evident that had significant project's design. authors concluded there are no negative effects construction projects concerned area all potential compensation handled legally efficiently. suggested undertake assessments.

The Asan Wetland is an important freshwater wetland in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun district. It known for its diverse flora and fauna as a stopover migratory birds. Periphyton, essential biological component of aquatic ecosystems, serves bioindicator water quality ecosystem integrity. This study fills gap our knowledge the Wetland’s ecological health by analyzing periphyton populations number physicochemical characteristics across three selected sites from November 2021 to October 2023. Selected named Site 1(S1), 2(S2), 3 (S3). Monthly variations parameters such temperature, pH, turbidity, transparency, total dissolved solids (TDS), electrical conductivity, oxygen (DO), hardness, alkalinity, demand (BOD), chemical (COD), nutrients were collected, identified assessed using Ms-excel Past software. Phosphorus levels indicated moderate high nutrient load , peaking August ( 1.20–1.25 mg/L ) all dropping their lowest January 0.35–0.65 ). The development of hydropower projects is crucial to addressing Pakistan’s ongoing energy and financial crises. Despite the country’s abundant resources, particularly in northern regions, these have not been adequately explored, while consumption supply issues persisted for past two decades. Focusing on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG-7): “Ensure access affordable, reliable, sustainable, modern energy”, this study aimed assess potential at suitable sites Upper Indus Basin (Pakistan) by integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDM). This only focused estimating but also considered environmental constraints all using multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) tool, which used location constraint criteria, along with benefit cost criteria. methodology combines technical evaluations (head discharge) prioritize sustainable development. Key findings identify 17, 15, 16, 5, 6 as most promising locations, balancing generation minimal impact. provides a replicable framework policymakers harness resources responsibly, contributing security aligning global Goals. approach bridges gap between feasibility sustainability offers model other regions facing similar challenges.
