The failure to repair bone defects in a timely manner has detrimental effect on patients’ quality of life and functional status. Consequently, there are increasing demands for medical interventions promote healing defects. However, the local inflammation induced by implants side effects associated with systemic use drugs have prompted research into development bioactive materials. Recent reports indicated that oral administration Lactobacillus acidophilus (LA) can act as an immunomodulator. In this study, we strategically designed bioceramic scaffolds modified inactivated LA biofilms (LA@BC) through UV irradiation localized application LA. biosafety scaffold was validated at cellular animal levels ensure it be safely used without bacteraemia. LA@BC achieved M1 M2 polarization macrophages vitro reducing secretion inflammatory factors. addition, enhanced osteogenic marrow mesenchymal stem cells modulating Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Furthermore, osteogenesis angiogenesis complement each other. exerted positive angiogenic endothelial cells. rat cranial defect model, upregulated expression RUNX2, OCN, CD31, IL-10 tissues, again demonstrating potent immunomodulatory effects. conclusion, provides new strategy clinical repair.
