Hepatic steatosis, a hallmark of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), represents significant global health issue. Liver lipidomics has garnered increased focus recently, highlighting Traditional Chinese Medicine's (TCM) role in mitigating such conditions through lipid metabolism regulation. The Zuogui Jiangtang Qinggan Formula (ZGJTQGF), longstanding TCM regimen for treating Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) with NAFLD, lacks definitive mechanism its regulatory effects.

Monitoring modifications in membrane lipids association with external stimuli/agents, including fumonisins (FUMs), is a widely employed approach to assess cellular metabolic response/status. FUMs are prevalent fusariotoxins worldwide that have diverse structures varying toxicity across species; nevertheless, they can induce disturbances and disease, cancer. The capacity of disrupt lipids, demonstrated numerous species organs/tissues, ascribed multitude factors/events, which range from direct indirect effects. Certain events well established, whereas the potential consequences others remain speculative. most notable effect their resemblance sphingoid bases, impacts synthesis ceramides leading changes lipids' composition not limited sphingolipids' membranes. next plausible scenario involves induction oxidative stress, considered an indirect/secondary FUMs. Additional modes action include enzyme activities nuclear signals related lipid metabolism, although these likely yet fully comprehended. This review provides in-depth insight into current state mechanistic actions modifying focus on long-chain fatty acids. paper also presents detailed description reported by

Fatty liver is a condition of excessive triglyceride accumulation in hepatocytes. Additionally, hepatocytes exhibit high degree fat droplet during alcohol consumption and metabolic syndrome. However, the molecular mechanisms involved formation remain unknown. The present study used an in vitro fatty model human cancer cell line, HepG2, to comprehensively search for formation‑related genes, which changes expression formation. Microarray analysis with extracted total RNA determined genes that are their was confirmed using quantitative polymerase chain reaction following culture HepG2 cells medium containing 0, 50, 200 500 µM oleic acid 24 h. results revealed 142 demonstrating increased levels by >2.0‑fold treatment 426 decreased levels. Perilipin 2 (PLIN2) estimated as gene most closely associated liver. Lipid induced led upregulation PLIN2 concentration‑dependent manner. On whole, findings indicate involvement acid‑induced lipid cells; particular may play crucial role this process.
