As an important intestinal microorganism, Odoribacter splanchnicus frequently appears in high-throughput sequencing analyses, although pure culture research on this microorganism is not as advanced. It widely present the mammalian gut and closely associated with health status of host incidence various diseases. In recent years, changes abundance O. have been found to be positively or negatively correlated issues, such obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, inflammation. may exhibit a dual protective promotional role specific Thus, it play regulating metabolism, immune response, homeostasis. Additional has revealed that can synthesize metabolites, especially short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which key promoting health, enhancing energy improving insulin resistance, responses host. Therefore, strong candidate for “next-generation probiotics”, its potential probiotic function provides novel ideas development functional foods prevention treatment inflammatory These findings help develop new biological strategies optimize management plans.

Abstract Allergic diseases with high recurrence rates have severely threatened human health around the world. Several strategies been developed including administration of allergens or neutralizing antibodies, while allergen‐specific immunotherapy (AIT) has considered as a cure for allergic diseases. However, AIT some drawbacks anaphylactic side effects native allergen protein during therapy, poor biodistribution in targeted organs/cells, and unsatisfactory desensitization long‐term unresponsiveness after treatment. Biomaterials hydrogels, nanoparticles, polymers nanoemulsions could improve pharmacokinetics avoid leakage free allergens, thereby improving therapeutic efficacy reduced effects. This review summarizes recent advances engineered biomaterials to alleviate diseases, especially combination AIT. Due prevalence various very limited therapeutics patients, this will provide new insights into development novel prevention treatment sustained unresponsiveness.
