Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder associated with oxidative stress, inflammation, and coagulation disturbances, which contribute to microvascular macrovascular complications. We evaluated the therapeutic effects of lavender oil (Lavandula angustifolia) in streptozotocin (STZ)-induced rat model type 1 diabetes (T1DM) experimentally induced thrombosis. Sixty male Wistar rats were divided into control, thrombosis, diabetes, thrombosis–diabetes, pretreatment groups (100 200 mg/kg body weight [bw]). Lavender exhibited dose-dependent benefits, bw dose leading significant reductions proinflammatory cytokines (e.g., tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α); regulated upon activation, normal T cell expressed secreted (RANTES); monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1)) along improved glycemic partial restoration C-peptide levels, attenuation matrix metalloproteinase 2 9 (MMP-2 MMP-9) activity (p < 0.0001).
