Bovine
enterovirus
(BEV)
infection
is
one
of
the
important
infectious
diseases
that
cause
digestive
and
respiratory
symptoms
in
cattle,
posing
a
significant
threat
to
cattle
industry.
Currently,
no
vaccines
or
therapeutic
drugs
are
available
for
this
disease.
In
our
study,
we
utilized
mouse
model
investigate
effects
BEV
on
gut
microbiota
examine
potential
magnolol
(Mag),
polyphenolic
bioactive
substance,
terms
infection.
significantly
altered
composition,
where
abundance
some
beneficial
bacteria,
such
as
Lactobacillaceae
Lactobacillus,
was
markedly
reduced.
Mag
effectively
inhibited
vivo.
Upon
infection,
treatment
reduced
α-diversity
microbiota,
with
statistically
differences
day
3
post-infection
compared
Mag-untreated
group.
More
interestingly,
reversed
effect
Lactobacillus
abundance,
indicating
positively
regulates
bacteria.
The
fecal
transplantation
(FMT)
experiment
demonstrated
feces
from
Mag-treated
mice
decreased
virus
loads
small
intestine
samples
BEV-infected
mice.
These
findings
demonstrate
interaction
between
highlight
regulatory
role
Mag’s
anti-BEV
effects,
opening
up
new
avenue
preventing
controlling
via
targeted
modulation
microbiota.
