Morphometric similarity is a recently developed neuroimaging phenotype of inter-regional connectivity by quantifying the region to other regions based on multiple MRI parameters. Altered average morphometric has been reported in psychotic disorders at group level, with considerable heterogeneity across individuals. We used normative modeling address cross-sectional and longitudinal inter-individual health schizophrenia.

Abstract Background Language impairments, which affect both structural aspects of language and pragmatic use, are frequently observed in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). These impairments often associated with atypical brain development unusual network interaction patterns. However, a neurological framework remains elusive to explain them. Methods In this study, we utilized the dynamic "meta-networking" language—a theoretical model that describes domain-segregation dynamics during resting states—to investigate cortical abnormalities ASD aged 5–40 years. Results Our findings revealed distinct developmental trajectories for three domain-specific subnetworks ASD, characterized by unique patterns hypo-and hyper-connectivity vary age. Notably, these proved be strong predictors verbal Intelligence Quotient communication deficits, though they did not predict social abilities or stereotypical behaviors. Limitations Due limited availability linguistic data, our study was unable assess deficit profiles individuals ASD. Conclusions Collectively, refined understanding mechanisms deficits

Abstract Introduction Cortical thickness asymmetry has been proposed as a latent biomarker for Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and schizophrenia (SZ). However, the degree of abnormal at individual level in ASD SZ remains unclear. To investigate this, we applied normative modeling. Methods Normative means whole brain regional (160 cortical parcels) index (AI) were established using training set healthy subjects (n=4,904, 45.15% male, age range: 6-95 years), controlling age, sex, image quality scanner. We calculated z-scores to quantify deviations from mean test consisting controls (HC , n=526, 40% male), participants with (n=135, 83% male) (n=287, 81% male). Regional deviance was assessed by counting number individuals significant below (infra-normal, z-score ≤ -1.96) or above (supra-normal, ≥ 1.96) each parcel. also evaluated regions participant. A data-driven multivariate approach employed determine whether joint associated diagnosis. Results There no differences AI between any groups. Distributions deviances overlapped across all 160 regions, only one superior temporal region which showed higher proportion supra-normal values compared HC = 1.14%, 5.92%, χ 2 15.45, P FDR < 0.05, ω 0.14). The group had average than (infra-normal: z -4.21, p 0.01; supra-normal: -4.33, 0.01). Multivariate analysis association inter-regional heterogeneity consistent when resolution parcellation, alternative calculations, restricted males, after handedness IQ. Conclusions Our findings indicate that brain, variability among those is entirely accounted variation. This study challenges utility ASD.
