People's attitudes toward time, the time perspectives (TPs) rooted in past experiences, might be crucial for emotional evaluation of life events, such as painful situations. In a survey-based study (N = 353), we investigated relationship TPs with self-perceived affective and physical aspects pain. Specifically, hypothesised that past-negative TP would associated negative appraisal pain characterised by higher pain-related catastrophizing, fear, sensitivity to We tested this hypothesis hierarchical regression models, adding depression, anxiety, variables early circumstances model stepwise. Early (i.e., socioeconomic status, household unpredictability, family resources) were measured retrospectively using questionnaires. addition, based on results analyses, built structural equation (SEM) whether mediates effect unpredictability found individuals scoring high had greater Further, there was evidence these associations are independent from circumstances. Finally, SEM analysis suggested unpredictable directed intense, negatively emotionalised perception via mediation TP. The findings generally support view behaviour is formed states linked experiences not necessarily specific context
