Amid the pressing challenge of global climate change, biogas (marsh gas) has garnered recognition as a clean and renewable energy source with significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions support sustainable production. Composed primarily methane (CH4) carbon dioxide (CO2), enhancing CH4 content in is essential for improving its quality expanding high-value applications. This review examines mechanisms underlying CO2 production anaerobic digestion (AD) processes; investigates effects raw material types, process routes, fermentation conditions on content; proposes feasible technical pathways producing CH4-rich biogas. Research indicates that can be produced through various strategies. Raw pretreatment technologies co-digestion strategies enhance substrate performance, stabilize AD process, boost Process optimizations, such multiphase co-production techniques, significantly improve utilization efficiency. Introducing exogenous reinforcement materials, including biochar zero-valent iron nanoparticles, fosters microbial interactions facilitates direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET). Furthermore, regulation genetic engineering community design presents promising prospects. By reviewing production, influencing factors, pathways, this work aims provide valuable insights research produce

Continuous cropping (CC) is a common practice in agriculture, and usually causes serious economic losses due to soil degeneration, decreased crop yield quality, increased disease incidence, especially medicinal plants. obstacles (CCOs) are mainly changes microbial communities, nutrient availability, allelopathic effects. Recently, progressive studies have illustrated the molecular mechanisms of CCOs, valid strategies overcome them. Transcriptomic metabolomics analyses revealed that identified DEGs (differently expressed genes) metabolites involved response CCOs various biological processes, including photosynthesis, carbon metabolism, secondary metabolite biosynthesis, bioactive compounds. Soil improvement an effective strategy this problem. amendments can improve community by increasing abundance beneficial microorganisms, fertility, availability. In review, we sum up recent status research on plants, combination transcriptomic studies, related control strategies, uses amendments, rotation, intercropping. Finally, propose future trends for understanding these promote sustainable agriculture practices

Volatile fatty acids (VFAs) accumulation is a common problem in anaerobic digestion, which constraining the process. In this study, bioaugmentation was initially adopted as measure to tackle acidification continuous digester. However, after stopped, promotive effect of hard sustain. comparison, combination and Activated charcoal (AC) enabled better reactor performance. The positive impact AC on recovery from sequential batch reactors thus investigated by feeding either propionate or acetate. results implied that addition significantly increased degradation rate propionate, accelerating biogas production (104 ~ 371%). Moreover, role mainly immobilization microorganisms form bio-AC owing AC's physical characteristics (high-surface-area large number pores enables adsorption microorganisms). biofilms decreased distance between microbes delayed washout microorganisms, enabling longer-lasting bioaugmentation. 16S-rRNA analysis showed led enrichment syntrophic microbial guilds (syntrophic VFAs oxidizing bacteria hydrogenotrophic methanogens). potential function (PICRUSt2) indicated significant enhancement formylmethanofuran dehydrogenase (EC 1.2.7.12) coenzyme F420 hydrogenase 1.12.98.1) AC. suggested promoted interspecies electron transfer.
