Anaerobic ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AnAOB) exhibit low resistance to environmental disturbances. The high concentration of nitrogen leached form rare earth ore (REO) tailings poses a significant challenge the industrial application Anammox. In this study, polyurethane was employed as an enhancing material resist inhibition for removal performance, structural morphology, and microbial community changes during recovery process were explored. results showed that immobilized Anammox restored after almost 53 d strategy with rate(NRR) 1.55±0.027 kgN∙m-3∙d-1. stoichiometric ratio close but slightly below theoretical value due other conversion bacteria. morphology cauliflower-like shape containing functional AnAOB coexisting combined extracellular polymeric substances (EPS). Due adhesion EPS, could enrich more AnAOB. protein (PN)/polysaccharides (PS)<1 obtained better compatibility between PS filler. abundance anammox Planctomycetota increased from 15.27% 64.46%, mainly consisting Unclassified_Brocadiaceae Candidatus_Kuenenia relationship.
