Abstract In this study, the efficacy of promising iron—based polymeric inorganic coagulant (POFC) was assessed for reduction eutrophication effect (freshwater toxicity) and microbial loads from wastewater. Toxicity assessment POFC conducted on mice skin cell lines. The results confirm lower toxicity level POFC. showed excellent antibacterial against Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria. Moreover, it demonstrated a remarkable effectiveness black fungus such as Aspergillus niger Rhizopus oryzae . Additionally, antiviral highly pathogenic H5N1 influenza virus well Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) severe acute 2 (SARS-CoV-2). POFC-based treatment gives removal percentages phosphate, phosphorus at doses below 60 ppm with low produced sludge volume that leads to 84% decrease in rate freshwater toxicity. At concentration ppm, rates total coliforms, fecal E. coli were achieved. After coagulation, retains bacterial density due activity Furthermore, revealed observed efficiencies fungi yeasts reached 85% dose ppm. Overall, our research indicates has potential application pre-treatment wastewater serves an antimicrobial agent.

This study investigated the impact of residual anaerobic granular sludge (AnGS) from digesters treating molasses wastewater on ammonium reduction in a downstream aerobic (AGS) reactor. Two conditions were tested: raw (high AnGS concentration) and settled (low anaerobically digested wastewaters fed into AGS With introduction wastewater, enhanced nitrite accumulation at 30 % improved total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) removal 11 observed compared to 1 8 TIN with wastewater. However, adversely affected other aspects reactor performance, increasing effluent solid content decreasing soluble chemical oxygen demand efficiency 20 low condition high condition. Despite retention reactor, no significant bioaugmentation effects microbial community observed. Aerobic was consistently both conditions. The suggests that may act as nucleus for granule formation, helping maintain stability disturbed environment. offers systematic understanding subsequent process using AGS, aiding decision making treatment digestate.
