A high pH, low solubility of bound plant nutrients, and negative impacts on microbial communities are common drawbacks biomass ash (BA) vermicomposting. In this study, nutrient-rich BA mixed with cow manure was tested at three different application rates to obtain final nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K) contents 3.5%, 7.0%, 10.0% for bio-based fertilizers via The results showed that all blends made increased fermentation temperatures allowed successful worm activity during the subsequent vermicomposting phase. order indicator enzyme activities in samples urease (220 μg NH4 g−1 h−1) > β-glucosidase (95 PNP alkaline phosphatase (91 arylsulfatase (83 acid (60 h−1). As an nutrient bioavailability, correlations were observed between diversity vermicompost samples. Determination coefficients (R2) obtained from multiple linear regressions bacterial population T0, T1, T2, T3 determined as 0.90, 0.65, 0.73, respectively. Anaerobically digested digestate is mostly used as organic fertilizer, but there still a potential risk of heavy metal pollution. Biochar and bio-organic fertilizer through passivation can effectively reduce the mobility ions in soil, with strong adsorption capacity metals, are widely soil remediation. In this study, raw material supplemented biochar was applied to simulated metal-contaminated its effects on content transformation forms crop systems were systematically investigated. The application biochar-based soils resulted large differences morphological distribution which reflected significant decrease metals weakly acid-extractable state an increase residue state, promoted from state. There accumulation above ground below parts cabbage, Cu, Zn, Cd, Pb mainly accumulated plants. present study offers effective methodology for remediation plant contamination by range (Cu, Pb), weak acid extraction stage stage. This approach particular significance advancement sustainable agriculture environmental

Abstract The anaerobic digestion of fruit and vegetable waste (FVW) presents a promising approach for sustainable management resource recovery. By characterizing its nutrient profile, this study explores the potential FVW digestate as an organic fertilizer. FVW, comprising orange, Chinese cabbage, cucumber, tomato, was processed into slurry mixed with sludge inoculum in pilot plant digester. process, conducted batch mode under ambient temperature, monitored over 10 days, achieving stable pH range 6.5 to 7.5. Results showed that contained significant concentrations essential nutrients: nitrogen (5.4%), phosphorus (6470 mg/Kg), potassium (13700 calcium (17400 iron (11500 magnesium (3840 copper (88 zinc (574 mg/Kg). These findings indicate is viable source fertilizer, offering high content, particularly calcium. However, varied from previous studies on food digestate, highlighting influence feedstock composition outcomes. Future research should focus assessing heavy metal content exploring effectiveness agricultural practices.

Research background. The escalating growth in Malaysian population has resulted the rise of kitchen waste generation, especially inedible organic waste, which is generally disposed to landfills and impacts environment. Apart from that, increasing demand for chicken products Malaysia led a significant increase manure production, with anaerobic digestion being explored further, there concern utilization digestate. Hence, this research addresses challenge treating digestate by exploring effectiveness composting vermicomposting methods via comparative analysis. With integration specifically spent coffee grounds, bone used towel, study aims enhance imbalanced physicochemical properties Experimental approach. Before composting, characterisation was performed investigate initial properties. Four setups comprising substances were established physical appearance, temperature pH profile, enhancement nitrogen, phosphorus potassium content, mass reduction final compost upon 50-day composting. Results conclusions. vermicompost additives observed nutrient an NPK ratio 1:3.57:6.58 lower moisture content 48.92 %, requiring shortest maturity duration (20 days), highest (55.11 %). Recent climate variability, limited fertile land availability and soil degradation are major constraints to achieve food security for an ever-increasing human population. The adoption of intensive agriculture practices highly productive agrosystems coupled with use agrochemicals has caused significant increases in production worldwide. This exhaustive system generation accumulation large quantities organic wastes, which cause environmental pollution, deteriorate health increase public hazards. Conventional methods waste management such as situ burning landfilling chemical labour intensive, expensive energy-consuming, negatively impact the environment. Therefore, sustainable, eco-friendly socially acceptable agri-technologies have been developed value-added wastes obviate pollution problem. These biological technologies composting, anaerobic digestion, vermicomposting, biochar, phytostimulants, bioremediation pollutants opened new vista management. addition processed amendments (i.e., compost, vermicompost, biogas slurry biochar) matter nutrients availability, stimulates microbial community, contributes towards biocontrol pathogens also causes detoxification pesticides. Furthermore, amendment material, singly or beneficial microbes, improved health, promoted growth plants increased crop yields less dependency on fertilizers. In this article, current used accumulated discussed improving sustainable production, while maintaining sustainability.
