Screening highly efficient photoelectrochemical (PEC) materials such as organic semiconductors self-assembled by molecules was crucial for designing sensitive biosensors. The local chemical environment of an molecule, example, a functional group, is critical factor to be taken into account when improving the PEC properties. In this work, group─anhydride, imide, and N-methylimide─on 3, 4, 9, 10 positions perylene core used create different environments investigate three derivatives were 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PDA), diimide (PDI), N,N′-dimethyl-3,4,9,10-perylenedicarboximide (PDI-CH3). They showed distinct photocurrent: PDI-CH3 > PDA PDI. results illustrated with intermolecular distance cofacial π–π stacking plane self-assembly structure, which caused their group. presence electron donor ascorbic acid (AA), photocurrent largest enhancement among them. As proof concept, self-powered biosensor alkaline phosphatase (ALP) detection using material platform successfully constructed linear range from 0.1 400 U·L–1. sensor good feasibility in human serum sample.
