Microalgae have long been seen as a suitable alternative to range of products like nutraceuticals, cosmetics, food additives, and feedstock for biofuels, attributable their rapid growth rate, high photosynthetic efficiency, simple requirements, accumulation valuable products. Given the increasingly severe global threat climate change, microalgal biofuels biodiesel remain one most sought-after pose favorable current first second generations unlike them, algae do not require arable land or potable water grow, thus sparing competition precious natural resources. However, despite R&D efforts, they are yet be commercialized.
