Single-cell oils (SCOs) offer a promising alternative to conventional biodiesel feedstocks. The main objective of this work was obtain SCOs suitable for production from the oleaginous yeast Rhodotorula glutinis R4 using sugarcane vinasse local sugar-derived alcohol industry as substrate. Additionally, crude glycerol evaluated low-cost carbon source replace expensive glucose and strategy integrating bioethanol industries valorization both agro-industrial wastes. achieved high lipid accumulation 88% 60% (w/w) in vinasse-based culture media, containing 10% 25% with (40 g L−1), respectively. When replaced glycerol, showed remarkable (40%) growth (12.58 L−1). fatty acids profile prevalence oleic acid (C18:1), making them synthesis. Biodiesel derived exhibits favorable characteristics, including cetane number (CN = 55) oxidative stability (OS 13 h), meeting international standards (ASTMD6751 EN14214) ensuring its compatibility diesel engines. Fungi play a critical role in ecosystems, contributing to biodiversity and providing economic biotechnological value. In this study, we developed novel deep learning-based framework for the classification of seven macrofungi species from genera Mycena Marasmius, leveraging their unique ecological morphological characteristics. The proposed approach integrates custom convolutional neural network (CNN) with self-organizing map (SOM) adapted supervised learning Kolmogorov–Arnold Network (KAN) layer enhance performance. experimental results demonstrate significant improvements metrics when using CNN-SOM CNN-KAN architectures. Additionally, advanced pretrained models such as MaxViT-S ResNetV2-50 achieved high accuracy rates, achieving 98.9% accuracy. Statistical analyses chi-square test confirmed reliability results, emphasizing importance validating evaluation statistically. This research represents first application SOM fungal highlights potential advancing taxonomy. Future work will focus on optimizing KAN architecture expanding dataset include more classes, further enhancing understanding.

The current study deals with an examination of strategies for the sequential treatment corn stalks (CSs) in integrated manner aiming to obtain papermaking fibers and recover both lignin hemicelluloses (HCs). Several pathways valorization were experimentally trialed, focusing on getting information from mass balance analysis attempt reveal potential outcomes terms pulp yield, chemical composition, properties such as tensile burst strength. raw amounts purity well separated also characterized. In this work, yields range 44–50% obtained CSs, while yielded maximum values 10 g/100 g CS 6.2 CS, respectively. Other findings evidenced that besides pulp, HCs have interesting output values. recovered yield shown be less than 50% general, meaning even if 67 90% it is removed only about half recovered. removal rates found approx. 30 60%. About 15 25% original could recovered, polysaccharides-based products 75% xylan content obtained. Some key opinions developed regarding how turn a result chosen set-up. determined antioxidant activity showed had IC50.
