Abstract
Major
depressive
disorder
(MDD)
is
a
leading
cause
of
disability
that
affects
over
300
million
people
globally.
Despite
multiple
antidepressant
trials,
approximately
one-third
MDD
patients
remain
symptomatic,
progressing
to
treatment-resistant
depression
(TRD).
This
persistence
possibly
due
the
multifaceted
etiology
TRD,
encompassing
biological,
psychological,
and
environmental
factors.
Chronic
stress,
prevalent
in
modern
life,
significantly
contributes
mental
health
disorders
complicates
TRD
treatment.

psilocybin

treatment

diathesis-stress
animal

Twenty-two
male
Wistar-Kyoto
(WKY)
rats
were
divided
into
control
stress
groups,

Abstract
Traumatic
events
(TEs)
play
a
causal
role
in
the
etiology
of
psychopathologies
such
as
depression
and
posttraumatic
stress
disorder
(PTSD).
Recent
research
has
highlighted
therapeutic
potential
psychoactive
substances
especially
3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine
(MDMA),
alleviating
trauma
symptoms
chronic
patients.
However,
little
is
known
regarding
consequences
that
acutely
experienced
under
influence
substances.
Here
we
investigated
acute
experiences
peritraumatic
processing
657
survivors
from
high-casualty
terror
attack
at
Supernova
music
festival
Israel
on
October
7
th
,
2023.
Data
were
collected
four
to
twelve
weeks
following
TE.
Approximately
two-thirds
time
TE,
offering
tragic
unique
natural
experiment
impact
compounds
TE
processing.
Our
findings
reveal
individuals
who
while
MDMA
demonstrated
significantly
improved
intermediate
outcomes
compared
those
other

no
all.

feelings

support,

interactions

quality
sleep

distress
