Neurocognitive impairment is one of the prominent manifestations major depressive disorder (MDD). Childhood trauma enhances vulnerability to developing MDD and contributes neurocognitive dysfunctions. However, distinct impacts different types childhood on processes in remain unclear. This study comprised 186 individuals diagnosed with 268 healthy controls. was evaluated using 28-item Trauma Questionnaire-Short Form. abilities, encompassing sustained attention, vigilance, visual memory, executive functioning, were measured by Cambridge Neuropsychological Testing Automated Battery. Multivariable linear regressions revealed that diagnosis independently associated impairment. Physical neglect impaired memory working memory. planning. Furthermore, abuse, physical be risk factors for early-onset, chronic episodes. Thus, specific associations between various traumas development depression are complex phenomena need further study.
