First, field survey carried out understand statuses Through building typology analysis, two types (renovated from existing newly built) were chosen as dominant villages. Second, comprehensive parametric study conducted examine impact environment using global sensitivity analysis. parameters with large impacts selected Sobol sampling by calculating contribution rates parameters. Then, NSGA-II algorithm used simultaneously minimize objectives generate Pareto front solution sets RTB types. Finally, applying an entropy-based TOPSIS decision-making method, optimal schemes (the best energy-saving solution, comfort compromise solution) further obtained feasible Pareto-optimal solutions, suggested values are presented. This proposes multi-objective optimization approach combining findings valuable, they can help designers improve designs buildings.

Abstract The energy performance of a building has significant impact on the environment as well comfort its occupants. Given that window systems and control elements such shading devices play critical role in building's consumption comfort, this article presents an investigation into optimization windows four different orientations, along cardinal directions, for typical office room Tehran. objective is to reduce cooling, heating, lighting while improving occupant simultaneously, using NSGA‐II algorithm multi‐objective method. To end, first, effects various parameters total conducted. Subsequently, each parameter evaluated detail concerning façade. As final step, façade, optimal solutions most undesirable scenarios are determined. results, which possibility glare also considered, can be used by architects designers making informed design decisions. results show that, all number slats their distance from wall effective configurations. Although eastern western larger study, visual discomfort controlled suitable shadings achieve acceptable levels comfort. Furthermore, north façades provide least amount thermal consume experiencing longer periods.

The daylighting environment in university gymnasiums affects daily teaching and sports training. However, direct sunlight, glare, indoor overheating summer are common problems. Semi-transparent photovoltaic glass can solve these issues by replacing shading facilities, blocking solar radiation, generating electricity. This study examines the influence of different types CdTe semi-transparent film on six typical gymnasium skylights. optimal determined dynamic performance metrics DA, DAcon, DAmax, UDI. results show that, for instance, centralized rectangular skylights benefit from 50–60% transmittance type, while X-shaped require 70–80% type to enhance daylighting. research offer specific recommendations based skylight shapes provide a reference design buildings with forms future.

To address the limitations of Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) in optimizing active glass curtain wall shading systems—particularly its suboptimal convergence efficiency and high computational demands—this study proposes an improved NSGA-II algorithm incorporating parameter categorization. Shading system parameters (e.g., slat width, angle, separation, blind-to-glass distance) are classified into distinct categories based on their character optimized sequentially. This phased approach reduces search space dimensionality, lowering complexity while maintaining optimization accuracy. The framework integrates user preferences climatic adaptability to balance energy glare mitigation. louver were under same experimental conditions, enhanced exhibits 49% lower consumption values 5% smaller visual discomfort time duration compared baseline outcomes.
