In the present study, sound absorption performance of inhomogeneous Micro-Perforated Panels (MPPs) with multiple cavities is investigated. Two models, a three-cavity system and four-cavity system, are proposed numerical study performed using MATLAB. The models validated through experimental analysis in an impedance tube. meticulously varies geometrical parameters, including pore diameter, thickness MPP, perforation ratio, back-cavity length. It found that MPPs greater number sub-cavities have better coefficient than two-cavity systems. results suggest back air cavity predominantly responsible for peaks, ensuring wideband absorption. also smaller ratios larger diameters improve lower frequency region. indicates diameter less 0.5 mm should be used above range 800–850 Hz, length has control between 850 Hz 2000 to make curve smooth fluctuation. findings significant implications design real-world applications.
