Occupant Behaviour (OB) has been identified as one of the most influential factors that impact workplace space usage. In addition, it proven to be key reasons for discrepancies between predicted and measured energy consumption office buildings. The current interdisciplinary understanding OB is hardly conducive an exhaustive conclusion, with many premises veiled explanations made during research, design, management process. This paper aims review existing literature focuses on energy-related from Social Behavioural science Engineering two reasons. Firstly, identify theory, connotation, application occupant behaviour in both fields. Secondly, type behaviour, triggers theoretical support defining term "Sustainable Offices (SOBO)". used PRISMA approach addition snowball papers. demonstrated results cover three main findings: 1. four types relevant workplaces are occupancy, adaptive non-adaptive personal behaviour. 2. Building, environmental, contextual, were SOBO. 3. Current frameworks SOBO mainly based Theory planned (TPB), norm-activation model (NAM) and/or motivation, opportunity ability (MOA) model. Real utilisation patterns often only become apparent when a building is put into operation. Since planning therefore based on several assumptions, the potential of technology limited. Post-occupancy evaluations offer to adapt operation real usage and draw conclusions for future planning, thereby improving performance. Although solution approaches are available in literature, this currently hardly being utilised. A survey construction industry used compare market requirements with existing concepts. The results emphasise relevance auto-commissioning, contractual agreements performance evaluation coupling digital twins post-occupancy evaluations. stronger anchoring control BIM proving be necessary better cross-disciplinary collaboration between all parties involved. Even though focus study lighting, most important findings principle transferable other trades.
