Urban parks play a vital role in enhancing residents’ well-being, making it essential for decision-makers and designers to understand the factors influencing park satisfaction improve attributes. While existing studies primarily focus on internal characteristics, this study investigates diverse ways that external environmental influence satisfaction. Using moderated regression models, we examined six factors, i.e., quality of neighborhood compound greenspaces, perceived home–park distance, walking difficulty, convenience coordinating other trips, quality, travel safety, Chongqing, China. Based an intercept survey 301 residents, five significantly impacted Notably, greenspaces trip coordination were critical determinants, showing large correlations with Enhancing safety along access routes is also crucial, as they directly enhance moderate impacts quality. Reducing difficulties can encourage frequent visits strengthen relationship between Interestingly, distance had minimal impact, likely because studied close proximity participants’ homes. These findings highlight importance holistically considering both urban planning design. Future research should explore additional contexts.

Community parks are the primary locations for urban residents to engage in nature, exercise, and establish social contact. This study used System Observing Play Recreation Communities (SOPARC) conduct field surveys of three typical community Hangzhou, focusing on analyzing differences subspace vitality within parks. First, we classified park spaces into four types: courts, lawns, fitness grounds, pavilions. We selected 11 variables assess landscape features subspaces; then, visitor density, activity richness, evenness, time stability were quantify characteristics space types. Finally, a mixed linear model was explore relationship between different types spatial select key influencing factors affecting vitality. The found that (1) differed significantly, showing Among them, high richness low density observed courts lawns. However, grounds showed opposite pattern. Pavilions exhibited exceptionally but stability. (2) influences mainly include hydrophilicity accessibility exhibit enhancing or inhibiting effects spaces. water-friendliness positively contributed all subspaces. Sports facilities increased reduced their evenness. Accessibility had an effect evenness suggest be made more vibrant by adding natural elements space, installing multifunctional compact facilities, subdividing functions.

Improving the equity of urban public green space is crucial for residents’ well-being and a key objective in planning. While most existing studies focus primarily on spatial distribution characteristics resources, fewer explore mechanisms influencing subjective perceptions preferences. This study, based survey 1419 residents Hunan Province, constructs structural equation model (SEM) to investigate impact unequal happiness, mediated by social–psychological factors such as environmental perception, sense security, neighborhood cohesion. Additionally, random forest (RF) algorithm employed identify main usage The results demonstrate that significantly influences happiness through perception (path coefficient γ = 0.744, p 0.001), security (γ 0.664, cohesion 0.830, 0.001). Key preferences use include age, housing prices, walkability, with walkability contributing 17.5%, 11.0%, age 10.2% frequency use. These findings are critical developing fairer more effective policies, creation sustainable, equitable, satisfying environment.

Abstract Parks are a crucial element of urban landscapes. Understanding the role built environment in terms park accessibility is vital for promoting travel equity and shaping public policies to improve access parks. This study employs geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI) approach examine impact on at both macro micro levels. We find that parks varies significantly across different modes, with walking being least equitable due its most clustered distribution pattern. While macro-level provides substantial explanatory power our GeoAI-based analysis offers more nuanced understanding streetscape qualities, by closely reflecting realistic human perception environment. These qualities - street network interconnectivity, safety, openness, spaciousness, greenery, distinctive signage correlate enhanced all thereby complementing factors. Ultimately, this suggests placing emphasis multimodal can enhance equity, thus providing relevant authorities policymakers cost-effective strategies improving accessibility.

Due to a plethora evidence that supports benefits an accessible walkable neighborhood, many countries cities put place reform agendas prioritize accessibility walkability promote culture. Saudi Arabia is among those countries, as evidenced by goals established Vision 2030. This focuses on City Hail’s efforts enhance its neighborhoods city’s accessibility. looks at how newly constructed pedestrian infrastructure matches people’s expectations it influences people Hail walk. also makes specific suggestions for improvement identifies ways forward. employs three-fold ‘post-occupancy evaluation’ methodology includes qualitative interviews, quantitative surveys, direct observation, focusing community interacts with new streetscapes. recommends designing improved rights-of-way, enhancing sidewalk design continuity, creating buffer zones, boosting shade shelter, increasing safety security. The suggested changes will added benefit strengthening sense residents while promoting mixed-use development, which generally recognized more ‘organic’, natural development path aligns Saudi’s heritage architecture, returning space roots. These findings are crucial shaping city planning beyond emphasizing inclusive strategies create lively communities where walking encouraged enjoyed.
