Engineering, automotive, and aviation sectors increasingly seek carbon fiber due to its exceptional strength lightweight properties. Although polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based is the most widely available type, excessively high cost prevents widespread use. Research efforts are increasing globally develop inexpensive fibers using coal tar pitch low-value petroleum feedstocks, such as asphaltenes, alternatives present PAN-based (polyacrylonitrile) fibers.
