Abstract Bi 2 WO 6 /BiOCl nanocomposites with three-dimensional core–shell structure were synthesized by a two-step hydrothermal method. The compounds characterized XRD, SEM, TEM, HR-TEM, EDX, SAED, XPS, PL, UV–Vis DRS, photoelectrochemical, and photodegradation experiments. result showed that the catalytic activity of was significantly better than BiOCl. effect amount on properties composite studied. had highest photocatalytic degradation efficiency for TNT, rate reached 90% after 180 min visible light irradiation. In process reaction 4.5 is highest, which 0.20057 −1 . After 4 cycles, TNT remained at 80%. free radical trapping experiments holes superoxide anions played major role in wastewater /BiOCl. Based results experiment, Mott-Schottky test, ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflection spectroscopy, mechanism enhancing proposed.
