In this work, we report the observation of uncatalyzed ene reactions between several phenylpropanoid compounds and diethyl azodicarboxylate (DEAD). For allylbenzene, reaction produces product at molar ratios up to 1:2 allylbenzene DEAD. At higher levels DEAD, more complex are observed. methyl eugenol similar products have been found. However, with DEAD is complex; in addition reaction, other happen same time. Most structures resulting elucidated using NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C, 2D), findings further corroborated by FTIR analysis. Interestingly, these appear undergo molecular aggregation, which results self-thickening their neat form. viscosity significantly decreases upon dilution a solvent. This property suggests potential use as thickening agents organic solvent formulations.

ABSTRACT Hemicellulose, as one of the key components plant cell wall, is second most abundant polysaccharide in nature, after cellulose. It highly valued by both academic and industrial communities because its low cost, environmental friendliness, renewability, biodegradability. In this review, we provide a comprehensive elaboration mechanisms latest research advancements hemicellulose extraction using various methods, including alkali extraction, hydrothermal pretreatment, acid deep eutectic solvent extraction. Furthermore, applications hemicellulose‐based hydrogels adsorbent, drug delivery materials, wound dressings, bone tissue engineering flexible sensors are presented. The four commonly used types polysaccharides regarding healing, xyloglucan, xylan, konjac glucomannan, seed‐derived galactomannan, systematically addressed. At last, perspectives on current challenges future development trends briefly purpose review to actionable strategies for biomass valorization.
