immunity.
With
low
toxicity,

represent
candidates
for
development
medications.
For

effectively

overview
of
recent
advancements

extraction,

structural
characterization,
and
bioactivity

polysaccharides.
We
discuss
state-of-the-art
extraction
techniques,
including
ultrasound-assisted,
microwave-assisted,
enzyme-assisted
as
well
purification
strategies
such
membrane
separation
chromatographic
methods.
Furthermore,
we
highlight
potential
activity,
antioxidant,
immunomodulatory,
anticancer,
gut
health-promoting,
anti-hyperglycemic
effects,
along
with
underlying

ABSTRACT
The
increasing
demand
for
global
food
resources
and
over‐dependence
on
terrestrial
agroecosystems
pose
a
significant
challenge
to
the
sustainable
production
of
commodities.
Macroalgae
are
an
essential
source
in
marine
environment,
their
cultivation
is
promising
approach
alleviate
impending
insecurity
due
key
factors,
such
as
independence
from
agriculture,
rapid
growth
rate,
unique
biochemical
composition,
carbon
capture
potential.
Moreover,
many
countries,
seaweed
has
been
used
decades
because
its
health
nutritional
benefits.
Seaweed
contains
bioactive
components
that
beneficial
against
various
pathological
conditions,
including
cancer,
type
2
diabetes,
neurological
disorders.
Furthermore,
natural
products
derived
macroalgae
have
also
found
immunostimulatory
antimicrobial
properties.
