Polymeric systems are used in clinical settings to bind small molecules and ions. They show advantages pharmacokinetics reduced side effects compared low‐molecular‐weight agents. In this study, a cross‐linked β‐cyclodextrin polymer is functionalized with deferoxamine develop more efficient ways of delivering iron chelators. Deferoxamine well‐known chelator treat overload conditions. The resulting polymeric conjugate, an equal complexing capacity deferoxamine, showed significantly lower cytotoxicity free all cancer cell lines studied (neuroblastoma SHSY5Y, breast MDA‐MB‐231, ovarian adenocarcinoma A2780, lung A549). results demonstrate that the conjugation reduces toxicity at same reveals potential deferoxamine‐based cyclodextrin conjugates as novel approach for targeting dyshomeostasis.
