ABSTRACT
Bioplastics
offer
biodegradability
and
reduced
environmental
impact
but
often
use
nondegradable
synthetic
dyes.
This
study
introduces
a
novel
application
of
glow
discharge
plasma
(GDP)
technology
to
modify
cassava
starch‐based
bioplastic
sheets,
specifically
optimizing
conditions
enhance
their
hydrophilicity
adhesion
for
natural
research
systematically
tailors
treatment
parameters
maximize
the
interaction
between
bioplastics
eco‐friendly
Optimal
conditions,
identified
as
30
W
3
min
using
oxygen,
air,
nitrogen
treatments,
demonstrate
significant
advancement
in
sustainable
material
development.
Analyses
(ATR‐FTIR,
EDX,
XPS)
showed
increased
concentration
polar
functional
groups
oxygen
content,
with
FE‐SEM
water
contact
angle
measurements
revealing
improved
surface
roughness
wettability,
respectively.
Oxygen
yielded
highest
crystallinity
polymer.
Tensile
tests
indicated
strength
decreased
elongation.
UV‐Vis
spectroscopy
confirmed
enhanced
dye
retention
leaching.

GDP's
potential

dyes
into
bioplastics,
