Abstract Background Proper water and fertilizer management can improve soil quality, regulate microbial community balance, increase crop yield. However, the overall quality of Panax notoginseng under different irrigation fertilization levels are still unclear. Methods We set up an experiment with W1F1, W1F2, W1F3, W1F4, W2F1, W2F2, W2F3, W2F4, W3F1, W3F2, W3F3, W3F4 treatments a non-irrigated non-fertilized CK as control in pseudoginseng farmland during 3 consecutive years. The differences TDS covering 13 physicochemical properties biological indicators fruiting stage were analyzed, effects on structure function bacterial phyla level further explored. MDS was selected by principal component analysis Norm value combined Pearson correlation analysis, SQI-MDS employed to comprehensively evaluate each treatment corresponding yield associated. Results data showed that Alpha diversity index, structure, three years had significant difference. In years, coupling compared single or more unique bacteria phyla, Acidobacteriota, Actinobacteriota, Chloroflexi, Proteobacteria dominant treatment, Acidobacteriota Firmicutes phylum demonstrated difference W3 F3 respectively, values multiple positive functional metabolism potential W3F3 significantly greater than CK. addition, richness beneficial increased planting included pH Shanno indicators, fitting effect between SQI-MDS-NL SQI-TDS better year. regimes top same every Furthermore, 2018–2019, 2019–2020, 2021–2022 year 1.63 times, 1.29 0.95 times CK, respectively. Conclusions This study provides reference for understanding condition long term formulating optimization plan increasing notoginseng.

The issue of soil contamination by heavy metals (HMs) has attracted extensive attention. In the present study, effects four remediation measures combined with rice intercropping on quality soils were evaluated in a mildly HM-contaminated paddy field. results showed that better comprehensive found system high and low Cd-tolerant than monoculture system.
