Environmental nanoplastics pose a potential health risk due to human exposure, necessitating studies on their cellular effects. This study aims assess the toxic and antibacterial properties of polystyrene (PS-NH2) MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells HFF-2 fibroblast cells, while also evaluating oxidative stress responses. Additionally, explores anti-tumor effects apoptosis induction by PS-NH2. The primary objectives were determine cytotoxicity, efficacy, response PS-NH2 at different concentrations sizes. aimed investigate mechanism cell death, including apoptosis, necrosis, cycle arrest, changes in antioxidant enzyme activity (SOD GPx). Nanoplastic characterized using FTIR, FESEM, zeta analysis. Antibacterial assessed agar dilution method, MTT assay determined cytotoxicity cells. Apoptosis, activities (SOD, GPx) evaluated. FTIR analysis confirmed amino-functionalization with wide peak 3386 cm-1, indicated neutral charge. showed no against E. coli or Staphylococcus aureus sizes 90, 200, 300 nm. Cytotoxicity assays revealed dose-dependent decreases viability for both lines. SOD GPx decreased significantly increasing concentrations. Both lines underwent accumulation G1 sub-G1 phases, indicating apoptotic death. exhibits dose- size-dependent Smaller particle higher enhance stress, leading arrest.

Mosquito-borne diseases continue to pose significant threats human populations, especially in developing and underdeveloped regions, where access effective preventive measures remains limited. Mosquito repellents represent a cornerstone the arsenal against these diseases, providing barrier mosquito bites. come various formulations, including topical ointments commercial vaporizers, with varying compositions. Common constituents include deodorized kerosene (DOK) as solvent, pyrethroids, amides, essential oils for fragrance, synergists. Despite their widespread use, toxicological profiles of remain inadequately understood, raising questions about safety prolonged or excessive exposure scenarios. However, while efficacy preventing mosquito-borne illnesses is well-established, concerns persist regarding potential toxicity humans environment. This review critically examines existing literature on repellents, focusing adverse effects health environmental sustainability. Through an extensive analysis available research, this aims shed light risks associated such dermatological irritation, respiratory complications, allergic reactions humans.

Increasing industrial activity causes the release of chemical compounds into aquatic habitats, including toxic heavy metals like cadmium and medications ketoprofen, posing considerable ecological concerns. Although previous studies have shown that ketoprofen individually cause cognitive impairment, there is a lack information on combined neurological effects two substances. We investigated consequences persistent exposure in presence adult zebrafish, providing an essential model for understanding cumulative impacts vertebrate organisms. Behavioral assessments, bioaccumulation rates, biochemical studies, histopathological exams were conducted over 42 days authentic environmental settings. The results our study show (10 µg/L) 100 at environmentally relevant concentrations had significant impact locomotor activity, social interactions, responses, indicating neurotoxicity co-exposure groups compared to single pollutant groups. Biochemical tests disturbances antioxidant defense systems, while histological examinations reveal structural changes zebrafish brain regions. Ketoprofen influences accumulation brain, underscoring importance conducting complete evaluations understand intricate interactions between pollutants. This improves complex medications, stressing need consider when assessing models.
