White-light-emitting carbon dots (WCDs) show innate advantages as phosphors in white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs). For WLEDs, the color rendering index (CRI) is most important metric to evaluate its performance. Herein, WCDs are prepared by a facile one-step solvothermal reaction of trimellitic acid and o-phenylenediamine. It consists four CDs identified column chromatography blue, green, yellow, red, thus light superposition these types light. The mixture undergoes Förster resonance energy transfer induce generation photoluminescence originates from synergistic effect core surface states. Thereinto, states dominate RCDs, increase amide contents degree conjugation promote redshift emission spectra, which further confirmed theoretical calculations. In addition, high CRI 97 achieved when used fabricate almost highest value up now. multicolor LEDs can also be fabricated using phosphors, respectively. This work provides novel approach explore rapid preparation low-cost, high-performance CDs-based WLEDs.

Biomass carbon dots (CDs) derived from natural plants possess the advantages of low cost, photostability, and excellent biocompatibility, with potential applications in chemical sensing, bioimaging, nanomedicine. However, development biomass CDs antioxidant activity good biocompatibility is still a challenge. Herein, we propose hypothesis for enhancing capacity based on precursor optimization, extraction solvent, other conditions broccoli as biomass. Compared to water extracts, powders, organic solvent extracts (BWE-CDs) have outstanding properties due abundant C═C, carbonyl, amino groups their surface. After optimization preparation condition, obtained BWE-CDs exhibit free-radical scavenging an EC50 68.2 μg/mL DPPH• 22.4 ABTS•+. Cytotoxicity zebrafish embryotoxicity results indicated that lower cytotoxicity better than solvents. In addition, effectively scavenged reactive oxygen species (ROS) A549 cells, 293T zebrafish, well eliminating inflammation LPS-stimulated zebrafish. Mechanistic studies showed anti-inflammatory effect was dependent direct reaction free radicals, regulation NO levels, upregulation expression SOD GPX-4. This work indicates could be enhanced by using precursors, characteristics greenness, toxicity, activities, which suggests promising application nanomedicine inflammatory therapy.
