Monitoring the level of biothiols in organisms would be beneficial for health inspections. Recently, 3-(2′-nitro vinyl)-4-phenylselenyl coumarin as a fluorescent probe distinguishing detection small-molecule cysteine/homocysteine (Cys/Hcy) and glutathione (GSH) was developed. By introducing 4-phenyselenium active site, CouSeNO2/CouSNO2 capable detecting Cys/Hcy GSH dual fluorescence channels. Theoretical insights into sensing mechanism were provided this work. The details electron excitation process products under optical character analyzed using quantum mechanical method. All these theoretical results provide insight pave way molecular design probes biothiols.

Macrocyclic polyamines constitute a significant class of macrocyclic compounds that play pivotal role in the realm supramolecular chemistry. They find extensive applications across diverse domains including industrial and agricultural production, clinical diagnostics, environmental protection other multidisciplinary fields. possess distinctive cavity structure with varying sizes, depths, electron-richness degrees flexibilities. This unique feature enables them to form specific structures through complexation objects, thereby attracting considerable attention from chemists, biologists materials scientists alike. However, there is currently lack comprehensive summaries on synthesis methods for polyamines. In this review article, we provide an in-depth introduction while analysing their respective advantages disadvantages. Furthermore, also present overview recent 5-year advancements using as non-viral gene vectors, fluorescent probes, diagnostic therapeutic reagents well catalysts. Looking ahead future research directions application various fields will hopefully inspire new ideas use.

Cervical cancer, the most common gynecological malignancy, significantly and adversely affects women's physical health well-being. Traditional surgical interventions chemotherapy, while potentially effective, often entail serious side effects that have led to an urgent need for novel therapeutic methods. Photothermal therapy (PTT) has emerged as a promising approach due its ability minimize damage healthy tissue. Connecting biothiol detection group PTT-sensitive molecules can improve tumor targeting further potential effects. In this study, we developed near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF)/photoacoustic (PA) dual-mode probe, S-NBD, which demonstrated robust PTT performance. This innovative probe is capable of activating NIRF/PA signals enable biothiols with high emission wavelength (838 nm) large Stokes shift (178 nm), allowing in vivo monitoring cancer cells. Additionally, achieved outstanding photothermal conversion efficiency 67.1%. The application laser irradiation (660 nm, 1.0 W/cm2, 5 min) was able achieve complete ablation without recurrence. summary, seminal study presents pioneering dicyanoisophorone-based imaging, incorporating features from first time. achieves dual objectives improving diagnosis treatment.
