Abstract Lower Critical Solution Temperature (LCST) of macromolecular systems is important in thermoresponsive smart window design. However, controlling the LCST behavior and sustaining shelf‐life are challenging tasks. Herein, how photochemistry can be tweaked to design sustainable windows that allow controlled transmission solar radiation described. Under solvothermal synthetic condition, lactate derivatives (R)-5-(1- carboxyethoxy)isophthalic acid ((R)-H3CIA) and (S)-5-(1-carboxyethoxy)isophthalic ((S)-H3CIA) assembled with Ca(II) Mn(II) ions to obtain enantiomers {[MnCa0.5((R)-CIA)(H2O)]·xGuest}n (HU21-R) {[MnCa0.5((S)-CIA) (H2O)]·xGuest}n (HU21-S), respectively. All oxygen atoms of synthons (R)-CIA3- (S)-CIA3- participated in the coordination metal ions. Thus, semi-rigid anions become rigid linkers HU21-R HU21-S. Fragments anion are connected by build right-handed double helical chains HU21-R, while enantiomeric left-handed helixes constructed fragments Additionally, centers CIA3- resulted a rare 4,4,4-connected net point symbol (42,62,82)3(42,64). were further filed into Mn-CIA-framework form three dimensional structure one channel. Moreover, magnetic test indicates that framework has canted antiferromagnetic behavior.

ABSTRACT Ferrocenyl‐containing Fe(II)‐bipyridinedicarboxamide polysiloxane complexes with two redox metal centers were obtained by anionic ring‐opening polymerization, polycondensation, and complexation reactions utilizing various Fe II :Bipy molar ratios of 1:(3–12). The polymer ligand was characterized liquid‐state NMR, FTIR, gel permeation chromatography ( M n = 8800). structure the polymer‐metal (PMCs), that is, presence ferrocenyl groups [Fe (Bipy) 3 ] coordination cross‐links –N Bipy bond formation, confirmed solid‐state UV–vis, EDX. PMCs exhibit multiredox activity showing three waves at E 1/2 ≈ −1.3, 0.2, 1.0 V related to Fc/Fc + couple, [Fe(Bipy) 2 /[Fe 2+ , /[Fe(Bipy) 3+ transformations. possess electrochromic properties resulting from reduction–oxidation (Fc/Fc ) fragments leading changes in intensity bands 628, 542, 380 nm UV–vis spectra (coloring efficiency reaches 13.4 cm ·C −1 ). are flexible, stretchable, mechanically strong silicone materials elongation break, tensile strength, Young's modulus reaching 110%, 3.5 MPa, 21.8 respectively, self‐healing ability 100°C. described expand applications as engineering for fabrication (opto)electronic devices protective coatings a long service life compared previously reported polymers.
