Abstract In this study, we present the synthesis and characterization of three transition metal 1,5-naphthalenedisulfonates: [Ni(PTP)₂]·(1,5-NDS)·2H₂O ( 1 ), [Mn(PTP)(1,5-NDS)] 2 [Zn(PTP)(1,5-NDS)(H₂O)] ·2.5H₂O 3 ). Herein, PTP refers to 4′-phenyl-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine while 1,5-NDS denotes naphthalene-1,5-disulfonate dianion. Compound exhibits a structure in which sulfonate groups 1,5-naphthalenedisulfonate anions are not engaged coordination. compound , Mn(II) ions interconnected through form chains along c axis. features chain via coordination interactions between cations anions; adjacent linked by hydrogen bonds create double-chain arrangement. Complexes of non-radioactive indium(III) with 2,2';6',2''-terpyridine (tpy) ligands have been rarely explored despite the popularity tpy as a strong chelating ligand backbone. Herein, three mononuclear complexes (In-1, In-2 and In-3) its 4'-Cl 4'-pyridyl derivatives synthesized structurally characterized. While crystal structure In-1 has previously studied, In-3 were isolated characterized for first time. Two different polymorphs observed by simply varying concentration reactants. Molecules determined X-ray crystallography found to adopt same coordination mode that in In-2, while remaining ring was uncoordinated. Bioactivity studies revealed In-1, fungicidal against human fungal pathogen, Candida albicans, several other non-albicans species. Moreover, cytotoxicity showed these compounds remarkably antiproliferative breast cancer cells (MCF-7 MDA-MB 468).

Abstract The Kröhnke Pyridine Synthesis has been discovered about six decades ago (1961), by Fritz and Wilfried Zecher at the University of Giessen. original method involved reaction α‐pyridinium methyl ketone salts with α,β‐unsaturated carbonyl compounds in presence a nitrogen source, frequently ammonium acetate. Since its discovery, methodology demonstrated to be suitable for preparation mono‐, di‐, tri‐ tetra‐pyridines, important applications several research fields. Over years, number modifications approach have developed reported, enabling broad applicability these methods even modern days, also synthesis non‐pyridine compounds. In this critical tutorial review, we will thoroughly explore discuss potential method, refinements that made over as well some arising from each type pyridine and/or produced Kröhnke's approach.
