In this study, novel homoleptic BF2 and Zn (II) complexes derived from an asymmetric dipyrromethene ligand were synthesized, with their chemical structures elucidated through NMR, HRMS techniques. The photophysical characteristics in solution investigated utilizing UV-visible absorption fluorescence spectroscopy. experimental results are clarified Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations electron-hole analysis. Theoretical analyses have demonstrated that, following excitation, both electrons holes remain confined exclusively within the BODIPY core. charge-transfer transitions identified between reciprocal ligands, which responsible for redshift observed main band, as evidenced by energy levels of frontier molecular orbitals converge contingent upon incorporation naphthyl p-methoxyphenyl substituents. When analyzed under inert nitrogen atmosphere, compounds exhibited considerable thermal stability. Despite similarity TGA curves complexes, formation complex resulted enhancement degradation temperatures.
