Abstract Graphitic carbon nitride (g–C 3 N 4 ), an organic photocatalyst was reported to have beneficial properties be used in wastewater treatment applications. However, g–C , its bulk form found poor photocatalytic degradation efficiency due inherent limitations such as specific surface area and fast electron–hole pair recombination rate. In this study, we tuned the physiochemical of by direct thermal exfoliation (TE–g–C ) examined their against abundant textile dyes methylene blue (MB), methyl orange (MO), rhodamine B (RhB).
