In recent decades, water pollution caused by emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, has attracted much attention. Antibiotics are commonly used and their residue in may accelerate the development of antibiotic resistance genes, which can produce to treatment diseases. this study, two energy-based systems, heat/peroxymonosulfate (PMS) ultrasound (US)/PMS were chosen treat typical tetracycline (TC) water. The influencing factors kinetic equations TC degradation heat/PMS US/PMS investigated rates systems compared. results showed that optimal PMS concentration required for both was 0.3 mM, neither system affected solution pH. power US important temperature because they provided activation energy. Both heat could activate degrade TC, slightly superior with 80% removal under conditions [TC] = 20 mg/L, [PMS] pH 6.4, T °C, 550 W. is considered be more advantageous activating TC.
