Hexavalent chromium [Cr(VI)] is considered a serious environmental pollutant that possesses hazardous effect on humans even at low concentrations. Thus, the development of bifunctional material for ultratrace-selective detection and effective elimination Cr(VI) from environment remains highly desirable scarcely reported. In this work, we explore an imidazolium-appended polyfluorene derivative PF-DBT-Im as sensitive/selective optical probe smart adsorbent ions with ultralow limit 1.77 nM removal efficiency up to 93.7%. aqueous medium, displays obvious transformation in its emission color blue magenta exclusively introducing Cr(VI), facilitating naked-eye colorimetric detection. Consequently, portable sensory device integrated smartphone fabricated realizing real-time on-site visual Cr(VI). Besides, imidazolium groups attached onto side chains are found be beneficial achieving selective efficient capacity high 128.71 mg g–1. More interestingly, could easily regenerated following treatment KBr can recycled least five times row.
