The magnetic composite gel bead (Fe3O4–C@SA GB) adsorbent was prepared by sodium alginate (SA) crosslinking with pitaya peel-derived porous carbons (PPDPCs) and iron oxide nanoparticles (Fe3O4 NPs). adsorption effects of Fe3O4–C@SA GBs on heavy metal ions (HMIs) 17 β-estradiol (E2) in water are evaluated classical kinetic models isotherm models. pseudo-second-order model shows that have maximum capacities 9.62, 7.50, 13.61 mg/g for Cu (II), Cd Pb respectively. Meanwhile, the highest performance synthesized beads to E2 is ca. 276.3 mg/g. In addition, can still maintain a high level efficiency after five cycles, displaying economic reusability. Hence, this work provides useful insights into efficient elimination pollutants sewage corresponding mechanisms.

Recent pesticide use is alarmingly high and unregulated in several parts of the world. Pesticide fate soil controlled by sorption processes which affect subsequent transport chemical reactivity environment, as well uptake plants. Sorption are dependent on composition properties, but these beginning to be affected global warming-linked factors leading depletion. Thus, it vital decipher soils' response, especially sub-Sahara (SS), depletion some inherent components presence pesticides. This was ascertained monitoring a model (atrazine) desorption whole SS (WS), same whose organic matter (OMR) iron oxides (IOR) were substantially depleted, studying atrazine from soils fast-growing vegetables. Organic enhanced equilibrium OMR. at lower ambient pH, higher initial concentration, temperature. Hysteresis low resulting desorption. Overall, ≥65 % observed; OMR (≥95 %) since SOM hysteresis. Though sub-Saharan rich oxides, played significantly role than this soil. result suggests potential for leach into aquifer sub-Saharan. Atrazine experiment waterleaf spinach showed that could detected after 63 d, its growth both vegetables with depleted (100 µg/kg) spiking. Spinach may accumulator waterleaf. It concluded grown atrazine-contaminated soils, SOM/iron oxide-depleted likely accumulate atrazine.

Two types of phosphate-activated carbon were prepared from African star apple(Chrysophylumalbidum)(CAAC) seed shell and pawpaw (Carica papaya) (CPAC) seeds, characterized, employed for Pb(II) ion sorption simulated contaminated water by studying the rates effects pH, dosage temperature. Experimental data assessed using kinetic models, thermodynamic properties investigated. Characterizations suggested hydroxyl, carboxyl, amides, phosphate functional groups active in adsorption. The uptake was swift, as equilibrium attained within 60 minutes both adsorbents. pseudo-second-order (PSO) fractal (FPSO) kinetics models fitted rate data. effective adsorbent dose 50 mL contaminant solution 1.0 g CAAC CPAC adsorbents, pH optimum 5. process exothermic increasingly spontaneous with higher temperatures reduced entropy transitioned towards equilibrium. BothCAAC adsorbents may be treatment over a wide temperature range. Comparatively, bothadsorbents exhibited similar strength.
