Photocatalytic coupling technologies have emerged as popular strategies to increase the treatment efficiency of dye-containing wastewater. Herein, Z-scheme Co3O4/BiOBr heterojunction (Z-CBH) was constructed and developed a photocatalytic peroxydisulfate (PDS) activator for degradation high-concentration Rhodamine B (RhB). Multiple testing techniques were employed confirm formation Z-CBHs. When 0.1 g·L–1 Z-CBH20 1.0 mmol·L–1 PDS added simultaneously under simulated sunlight irradiation, RhB could approach 91.3%. Its reaction rate constant (0.01231 min–1) much beyond sum those in Z-CBH20/light system (0.00436 PDS/light (0.0062 min–1). h+, •OH, •O2–, SO4•–, 1O2 detected dominant reactive species degradation. Bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) has a unique layered structure and uneven charge distribution, resulting in an internal electric field under polarization, which promotes the efficient separation migration of photogenerated carriers. BiOCl could be candidate for sonophotocatalysts. However, low utilization visible light limits application photocatalysts. In this study, photocatalytic performance rare earth element (Nd, Sm, Eu, Er Er)-doped was studied by density functional theory (DFT) experimentally to screen high-performance catalysts. The band structure, states, optical properties were calculated DFT method predict activity earth-doped BiOCl. built-in formed Eu-doped inhibiting electron hole recombination can observed. Subsequently, photocatalyst sonophotocatalysts evaluated. results show that sonophotocatalytic is improved, consistent with theoretical prediction.
