Herein, we report hybrid fibrous artificial muscles with reversible actuation, i.e., expansion upon cooling and contraction heating, under external compression. Although many polymeric by twist insertion in precursor fibers have been developed, most of them cannot reversibly actuate without an tensile load. A new family of two‐dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides, carbonitrides, and nitrides (MXenes) has attracted increasing attention owing to their electrical, chemical, physical properties. Together with various attractive properties the MXenes, they also exhibit electrochemical induced deformation (i.e., expansion/contraction) via ion intercalation/de‐intercalation in/from MXene layers. In this respect, MXenes offer possibility application as electrode actuators (ECAs). While MXene‐based ECAs are still in infancy stage, researchers have made great effort achieve high‐performance capacitors (ECs). As name suggests, both ECs shared common traits which operations based on processes. This review provides recent progress parallel that gain insights from relatively mature developments EC applications. Finally, findings previous studies applications, perspectives future terms electrode, electrolyte, cell configuration provided.
