Upconverting nanocrystals are widely used in the field of trace substance detection, but quantitative analysis with high sensitivity remains challenging. In this paper, we developed a novel optical sensing material for food pigment detection. A series upconverting Na3GaF6:Ho3+,Yb3+ monoclinic phase were synthesized by coprecipitation method. To modify nanocrystal surface and limit luminescence quenching, Na3GaF6:Ho3+,Yb3+@SiO2 materials core–shell structure designed, where high-intensity upconversion emission was realized modulation Ho3+/Yb3+ doping ratio SiO2 shell layer thickness. Simultaneously, based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer phenomenon, applied luminescent to concentration detection (amaranthine red), mechanism also analyzed detail. addition, work presents promising strategy selectivity, which holds significant practical value effectively safeguards human health.
