Wastewater pollution is severe, with various refractory compounds extensively used and discharged into sewage, posing risks to the environment human health. Electrocatalytic technologies including direct indirect electrocatalytic oxidation, reduction, electro-Fenton processes offer advantages such as high efficiency, ease of control, minimal secondary pollution. This review aims systematically introduce principles, current research status, advantages, disadvantages for wastewater treatment, a focus on electrode materials, operational parameters, cost analysis technologies. It also provides new insights efficient materials future in treating wastewater.
