The narrow bandgap semiconductor Sb2S3 has been extensively utilized in solar cells for its impressive light absorption coefficient and carrier mobility. However, a large number of deep energy defects provide recombination sites that limit photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance. In this study, nanorods (NRs) CdSe quantum dots (QDs) were successfully prepared, Sb2S3/CdSe-annealed quasi-one-dimensional heterojunction photoanodes with the S-scheme constructed. composite photoelectrode achieves 12 times increase photocurrent density compared to 0.4 mA cm–2 photoelectrode. Overall, synergistic effect [hk1]-oriented NRs promotes transport, achieving spatial separation photogenerated carriers efficiently weakening electron–hole pair. This study provides simple method low-cost development [hk1] orientation an idea enhance PEC water splitting direction.

Functionalizing organic polymers represents an effective strategy for enhancing their photocatalytic performance. However, this approach is currently limited by the specific motifs and complexity preparation methods as well obscure electron transfer mechanism. Here, a precisely engineered structure of perylene diimide (PDI) connected with controlled trimer barbituric acid through self-assembled hydrogen bonding has been devised. Notably, local chemical environment two components adjusted bond-induced dipole-dipole interactions, resulting in emergence substantial inherent electric field electronic transmission pathways promoting charge exciton dissociation. Additionally, unique facilitates polarity to reactive molecule its activation adsorption capabilities. Ultimately, B-PDI exhibited outstanding oxidation benzylamine N-benzylidenebenzylamine rate (10.03 mmol g-1 h-1) selectivity (>99.99%).
