Abstract Replacing antimony trioxide (Sb 2 O 3 ) with an environmentally friendly alternative is of great scientific and commercial value for studying the flame retardant properties flexible PVC (fPVC) films in automotive interior materials. This study develops fPVC reduced Sb content by introducing stannic oxide (SnO zinc borate (ZB). The results indicate that film ZB partially replacing exhibits superior retardancy smoke suppression compared to product containing SnO . peak heat release rate (PHRR), total (THR), (TSR) 2ZB/2Sb are 32.1%, 27.5%, 22.1%, respectively, 4Sb contained film. increase attributed presence ZB, which compensates deficiency char formation ability condensed phase. PHRR THR 2SnO /2Sb decrease 27% 12.5%, film, while TSR increases 16.5%. a straightforward approach creating suitable latest industrial application
