This research explores the synthesis and application of carbon-based adsorbents derived from olive stones almond shells as low-cost biomass precursors through carbonization at 600 °C combined with chemical activation using KOH, H3PO4, ZnCl2 carbon/activating agent (C/A) ratios 1:2 1:4 (w/w) 850 for removal Cu2+ Pb2+ ions aqueous solutions. The carbons produced were characterized different techniques including SEM-EDX, FTIR, XRD, BET analysis, CHNS elemental point zero charge determination. Batch-mode adsorption experiments carried out adsorbent doses 2 5 g L−1, initial metal concentrations 100 500 mg natural pH (around 5) agitation 350 rpm 25 24 h. KOH-activated carbons, especially a ratio, exhibited superior performance mainly due to their favorable surface characteristics functionalities. was entirely removed (100%) highest concentration L−1 an dosage while Cu2+, maximum efficiency 86.29% L−1. results this study will help advance knowledge in design optimization processes heavy removal, benefiting industries seeking green technologies mitigate environmental pollution.
