Increasing soil salinity and degraded irrigation water quality are major challenges for agriculture. This study investigated the effects of incorporating compost (3% dry mass in soil) on minimizing salinization promoting sustainable cropping systems. A greenhouse used brackish (electrical conductivity 2010 µS/cm) agricultural (792 to irrigate Dundale pea clay loam soil. Compost treatment enhanced retention with moisture content above 0.280 m3/m3, increased plant carbon assimilation by ~30%, improved growth >50%, reduced NO3− leaching from 16% 23.5% irrigation, respectively. Compared no treatment, compost-incorporated irrigated showed highest increasing fresh weight 64%, 50%, root length 121%, height 16%. sodicity during Cl− Na+ provides an environmentally approach managing salinity, remediating impact improving organic matter, enhancing availability nutrients plants, sequestration potential.

Recent studies have predominantly spotlighted bacterial diversity within coral microbiomes, leaving coral-associated fungi in the shadows of scientific inquiry. This study endeavors to fill this knowledge gap by delving into biodiversity, distribution and functional differences associated with soft corals Cladiella krempfi Sarcophyton tortuosum, gorgonian Dichotella gemmacea stony Favia speciosa from South China Sea. Leveraging high-throughput sequencing fungal internal transcribed spacer-1 (ITS1) region rRNA gene, a total 431 amplicon sequence variants (ASVs) were identified study, which indicated that large number communities harbored Sea corals. Noteworthy among our findings is 10 genera are reported for first time corals, Candolleomyces, Exophiala, Fomitopsis, Inaequalispora, Kneiffiella, Paraphaeosphaeria, Yamadazyma belonging Ascomycota, Cystobasidium, Psathyrella, Solicoccozyma Basidiomycota. Moreover, significant (p < 0.05) observed various species. In particular, D. emerged as veritable haven diversity, boasting 307 unique ASVs. Contrastingly, S. tortuosum C. exhibited modest 36 21 ASVs, respectively, while F. hosted comparatively sparse community, merely ASVs total. These not only provide basic data on function but also underscore imperative nuanced conservation management strategies reef ecosystems worldwide.
