Abstract
In
order
to
meet
the
demand
for
portable
water
and
replenish
depleting
resources
caused
by
industrialization,
urbanization,
population
growth;
wastewater
purification
has
become
crucial.
Emerging
contaminants
(ECs),
which
include
organic
dyes,
pesticides,
pharmaceutical
drugs,
polyaromatic
compounds,
heavy
metal
ions,
fertilizers,
among
others,
have
significant
disruptions
environmental
balance
severe
health
complications.
As
a
result,
considerable
effort
been
devoted
development
of
technologies
that
eliminate
from
effluents
via
adsorption,
photocatalysis,
other
means.
However,
considering
economic
implications
adopted
technologies,
green
technology
gained
attention
owing
their
eco-friendly
approaches,
cost-effectiveness,
avoiding
use
toxic
harmful
chemicals
production
less-toxic
by-products.
Currently
green-synthesized
nanomaterials
seen
tremendous
growth
in
emerging
as
sustainable
nanoadsorbents,
nanocatalysts
removal
highly
efficient
manner.
Thus,
this
review
presents
an
overview
various
techniques
utilized
treatment
with
particular
emphasis
on
application
environmentally
friendly
transition
metal/metal
oxide
nanoparticles

technology.
