Partially aromatic polyamides owing to their excellent thermal stability are widely used in high temperature applications, however, like aliphatic counterparts, they readily flammable and more challenging process. In this work, several organophosphorus flame retardants were synthesized compounded with partially polyamide evaluated for processability, thermal, fire behaviour. The compounds containing a commercial retardant, Exolit® OP 1230 (EX), two new retardants, namely 1,4-phenylenebis(diphenylphosphine oxide) (MP) (1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-diylbis(diphenylphosphine (BP), showed self-extinguishing capability (i.e., UL94 V0 class) 4 wt% phosphorus (P) loading, together substantial reduction the pHRR (up 47 %), respect pristine PAP. Rheological measurements on extended timescales assess melt of compounds. presence MP BP polymer matrix did not trigger any excessive degradation phenomena such as chain scission, branching, or crosslinking reactions, thus, allowing stable processability similar sample. Finally, analysis evolved gases during decomposition revealed that mainly exert inhibition effect quite early

The Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a non-contact technique that analyses sequence of images providing full field measurement displacements and strains over time. DIC experimental set-up requires speckle pattern.
