Partially aromatic polyamides owing to their excellent thermal stability are widely used in high temperature applications, however, like aliphatic counterparts, they readily flammable and more challenging process. In this work, several organophosphorus flame retardants were synthesized compounded with partially polyamide evaluated for processability, thermal, fire behaviour. The compounds containing a commercial retardant, Exolit® OP 1230 (EX), two new retardants, namely 1,4-phenylenebis(diphenylphosphine oxide) (MP) (1,1′-biphenyl]-4,4′-diylbis(diphenylphosphine (BP), showed self-extinguishing capability (i.e., UL94 V0 class) 4 wt% phosphorus (P) loading, together substantial reduction the pHRR (up 47 %), respect pristine PAP. Rheological measurements on extended timescales assess melt of compounds. presence MP BP polymer matrix did not trigger any excessive degradation phenomena such as chain scission, branching, or crosslinking reactions, thus, allowing stable processability similar sample. Finally, analysis evolved gases during decomposition revealed that mainly exert inhibition effect quite early

The Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a non-contact technique that analyses sequence of images providing full field measurement displacements and strains over time. DIC experimental set-up requires speckle pattern. In this work new epoxy-based nanocomposite, containing TiO2 nanoparticles coffee-derived biochar fillers, was developed to obtain an ecofriendly flame-retardant material with suitable mechanical optical properties for its use as pattern applications. optimized formulation characterized by uniform distribution particles can be employed self-standing during the manufacturing composite reinforcements. physicochemical properties, behaviour fire performances nanocomposite are described. incorporation additives in epoxy resin increases Young's modulus around 30% almost doubles burn-through time respect pristine resin, suggesting slight condensed phase mechanism arising from synergistic action biochar. effectiveness creating patterns validated comparing measured means analysis those obtained through traditional technique. Finally, durability assessed accelerated thermal aging tests, confirming potential application structural health monitoring structures.
