Polymeric membranes offer an appealing solution for sustainable CO 2 capture, with potential large-scale deployment. However, balancing high permeability and selectivity is inherent challenge pristine membranes. To address this challenge, the development of mixed matrix (MMMs) a promising strategy. MMMs are obtained by carefully integrating porous nano-fillers into polymeric matrices, enabling simultaneous enhancement permeability. In particular, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have gained recognition as MMM fillers capture. Here, review current state, recent advancements, challenges in fabrication engineering MOFs selective capture proposed. Key considerations research directions to fully exploit gas separation MOF-based applications highlighted.
