Blast furnace slag (BFS) is a secondary material generated during the process of producing iron in blast furnaces, prompting scholars to concentrate on its efficient management and broad application for creation valuable commodities. This study examines mineral composition, adsorption characteristics, utilization BFS silica counterparts. Recent developments functionalized materials pollution mitigation are examined, specifically concentrating elimination nitrogen, phosphorus, metal ions, pharmaceutical effluents, waste oils, dye molecules from wastewater. To counter the threat to wellbore stability in shale formations posed by filtrate invasion and pressure transmission of oil-based drilling fluids (OBDFs), it is critical develop a material that can effectively seal micron-scale fractures.
